Into the Wastelands continues the story of Flaranthlas Eldanari. Flare is a half-elven warrior who has gone against the Church of Adel by learning magic and sorcery. The Church will do anything to keep Flare from restoring the Dragon Order and thereby fulfilling the ancient Kelcer prophecy.

A prisoner of an agent of the Church of Adel, Flare and his captors begin a journey back to Telur. Knowing he must escape before they reach the capital, Flare desperately searches for a way to escape.

Unbeknownst to Flare, Heather leads a group of Guardians to the Faerum Wastelands. An ancient suit of armor is rumored to be in the ruins of the city of Saprasia, and the armor is another sign of the Kelcer prophecy.
